Taubman teams with Revolution Studios, Columbia Pictures
to reward first arrivals at the mall Nov. 26
MIAMI, Fla., Nov.15, 2004 - Free food, movie passes, CDs, books and more will greet day-after-Thanksgiving early-bird shoppers at Dolphin Mall this year.
The first early bird customers arriving at 7:30 a.m. Nov. 26 will enjoy complimentary food in Dolphin Mall's Ramblas Plaza area from ChurroMania, Lindt Chocolates, Mr. Pretzel, Empanada Factory and more.
Michigan-based Taubman Centers (NYSE: TCO), which owns and manages Dolphin Mall, has partnered with Revolution Studios and Columbia Pictures to reward dedicated post-Thanksgiving early bird shoppers.
The first 50 to arrive at Dolphin Mall's Ramblas stage will receive "The Early Bird Gets the Deal" entertainment bonus, including:
"The day after Thanksgiving has become a holiday tradition in many shoppers' minds," explains Maria Llorca, Dolphin Mall marketing director. "Here at Dolphin Mall we believe in giving back to our customers and what better way to start their shopping day than breakfast on us, free movie tickets to "Christmas with the Kranks" for the first 50 customers and an opportunity to win a Sony digital camera, packed along with a Early Bird savings flyer from their favorite stores."
The Early Bird savings flyer features discounts at almost 60 stores including: OFF 5th Saks Fifth Avenue Outlet (25% off your purchase until 10 a.m.), Guess Clearance (30% off your purchase until 10 a.m., 15% off your purchase for the remainder of the day), United Colors of Benetton (20% off your purchase), Zales the Diamond Store Outlet (10% off diamond bracelets) and Disney's Character Warehouse (10% off your purchase).
*Customers must be in attendance from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. to receive the savings flyer featuring promotions that will run until noon that day.
Almost 60 percent of 2,000 early-bird shoppers surveyed nationwide say they plan to arrive at the mall before 7 a.m. on the day after Thanksgiving this year, according to a recent poll conducted on Taubman shopping center Web sites.
"We see 'The Early Bird Gets the Deal' as a great way to add fun to the holiday shopping experience and, at the same time, introduce our holiday film to a great number of consumers focused on holiday shopping and entertainment," says James Costos, head of corporate partnerships and promotions for Revolution Studios.

Dolphin Mall is an enclosed value retail/entertainment/dining destination with an 850-seat food court and more than 240 retailers. It is located just five miles west of Miami International Airport, where the Dolphin Expressway and the Florida Turnpike intersect.
